Need Help!...with...words...

Currently listening to: "Crusty Monkey" by Lunatics on Parole

I'm trying to compile a big-ass list of interesting words, out-of-the-ordinary words, etc that wouldn't be difficult for a kid to understand.

For example: SKEDADDLE
ske·dad·dle
–verb (used without object) 1. to run away hurriedly; flee.

It's not necessarily an everyday word and it's an interesting and fun-sounding word that I don't think would totally go over a child's head. Any input would be MUCH appreciated!

Antidisestablishmentarianism: n originally, opposition to the disestablishment of the Church of England, now opposition to the belief that there should no longer be an official church in a country

Poppycock, balderdash, gobbledygook, jabberwocky. (These are all synonyms for "nonsense" or "gibberish")

I alwasy enjoy "Hedonistic" (HA!)

–noun 1. a person whose life is devoted to the pursuit of pleasure and self-gratification.

–adjective 2. Also, he·don·is·tic. of, pertaining to, or characteristic of a hedonist or hedonism.

Self-gratification, eh? Sounds like all children to me! (Below a certain age it's true! They only know how they feel and they want to be pleased! It's only natural!)

Like I was the only kid that use the word Hedonist.

*rolls eyes*

Geez. This is hard. I didn't even baby-talk with my kids when they were little. They always used proper words for items like I did.

(sorry!)
